2021 Bing Wallder Shield

Wagga and District wins Bing Wallder Shield for 4th successive time.

The Zone 8 Bing Wallder Shield for 2021 was finally able to be played last weekend at Wagga RSL Club. Due to wet weather in 2019 and the Covid-19 pandemic the event was unable to be played in 2020.

The Bing Wallder Shield is played between all the 6 Districts in the Zone 8 Bowling Association area.

Wagga & District were the current holders and were attempting to go for a 4peat.

After day 1 matches the table looked like this:

Wagga 4 points + 63

Riverina 4 points + 37

Albury 4 points + 10

Southern Slopes 4 points – 4

Southern Highlands 2 points – 87

South Western 0 points – 19

There were no 3 game winners on day 1 so, to Sunday where all clubs on 4 points (2 wins) were in with a chance.

At the end of the day the local boys from Wagga and District were able to complete their 4peat and came out convincing winners over the weekend.

Albury 8 points + 29

Southern Slopes 6 points + 10

Riverina 4 points + 24

Southern Highlands 4 points – 99

South Western 0 points – 52

The 2022 event will be played in November and hosted by the Southern Highlands District.
